The NT Farmers Association is holding a Seasonal Worker Program Farmers Forum in Katherine on THIS Wednesday the 22nd of February. There is still spaces on the bus from Darwin and plenty of room for Katherine attendees to join.
Begins at 11:00am Knotts Crossing Resort meeting room, includes lunch and a tour of the Katherine Research Station.
Attached is a fact sheet and link to the Outbreak website with information on Official Control for quarantine plants pests. This is a new policy that is now in place to support trade when an exotic plant pest or disease needs to be contained and controlled, but may no longer be subject to eradication. Appreciate if you can pass onto plant industries. AUSVEG are already well aware of it....
Sam Tocknell (NT Farmers) and Brian Thissleton (DPIR Entomologist) delivered a presentation on the NT Vegetable Project (VG15044 - funded by Hort Innovation) at the recent Territory Natural Resource Management, Darwin Forum. The feedback from the attendees was very positive, and they were ranked as the most popular and interesting presentation on the day! NT Farmers looks forward to sharing...
